finally slid beneath the waters about 3,500 yards southeast of Savo

He was honored by receiving the Navy Cross for sinking considerable Japanese tonnage and for testing to improve torpedoes
which often struck their targets and did not explode. He is missing in action and his name is honored on the Tablets of the

Zig Zag Pass near Olongapo. Staff Sergeant Dugan's brother, Charles Dugan fought along side him in the Philippines and saw
his death by a Japanese sword. He got quick revenge as he was able to kill the Jap with the same sword. SSGT Dugan is buried
at Manila American Cemetery in the Philippines. He was decorated with a Bronze Star and a Purple Heart for his Supreme Sacrifice.
